This DEAL is OVER. After doing this deal a few times, WALMART/SAMs figured it out and put a stop to the DEAL. Now you can only do it once per account.
I was able to rotate the cards a few times, so I can’t complain – The lesson is – when you find a great deal, do it fast and do it often before it vanishes!
My deal today!
Sams club only takes Mastercard and Discover credit cards. I have a few cards with special promotions, one is a Marriot Visa card that will give me a FREE night if I spend $500 on the card in Oct, Nov, Dec. So I stopped at Walmart and purchased five $100 gift cards.
Then I went to Sams Club and purchased 8 Gift of Membership cards for $100 each (I had 3 gift cards left from another promotion). It took a little social engineering (If you have read “The Frugal Factor” you know what I am talking about). But without much trouble the girl at the Membership services desk rang up each card one at a time – as she did each one I handed her a $100 Gift card. In the end I turned my $800 in gift cards into $1000 in gift cards. A $200 increase that tool about 30 minutes of my time. Plus I met the conditions of the Marriot card for a FREE nights stay.
The GIFT of Membership card is just a gift card – it can be used to purchase anything at Walmart or Sam’s Club!
NOTE: to do this deal you MUST go to the Membership services desk and use the $100 Membership cards that are attached to the little red boxes. I found these near the cash registers. (The cards on the hanging gold flat cardboard would not ring up at all – they said they were old). The person at the register must put in the promotion code and swipe a $25 Gift card and will will ring up at $0.00. The promotion code they must enter is 969728 (yeah, a little social engineering got her to tell me the code).
Some may think this is a little crazy – but right now I do not know anyplace I can make 25% on my money. Get Ready Sam’s Club – I will be back tomorrow, and on and on………………………………………………

The Gift of Membership is basically a standard gift card that can be used at Sams or WalMart Stores. The fine print on the back of the “Gift of Membership” cards says……. “This card can be used for purchase of merchandise at Sams Club or retail WalMart Store.”
Locate and take the “Gift of Membership” to the customer service desk to purchase (you can NOT do this in normal checkout lines)
Pay for it, during checkout they should give you a free $25 Giftcard, if you wanted to be nice you can bring that with you to the counter too.

*You can only do this once per transaction, the code they use cant be applied more than once to the same receipt (believe me we tried this many ways), but you can do separate transactions.
To make the deal better – be sure to use a credit card that gives you back rewards when making this purchase!
